A2 students: Xmas catch-up
A2s: hopefully you regularly check your student emails, but if not, please check them ASAP. I emailed all of you earlier in the week regarding your blogs. You need to thoroughly go through the blogs during the break, and upload missing tasks as per the email. Any questions, you can email me but please do not use my usual work email as it's unreliable accessing it from home. Use medialeyton@gmail.com [disclaimer: I shall *not* answer emails on Christmas Eve / Day / Boxing Day :-/]
Have a restful break and use the time wisely to go through your blogs. See you in the New Year!

AS Media: List of common mistakes in music magazines
Please carefully check through this list before Thursday's workshop session (as a reminder, you should be in the workshop, A9 and A10 on Thursday 8th December from 9 to 12.50):
·
Check DPS is on an A3 page
·
Check font size for copy is size 9-12, except
for headers
·
Gutters for front cover- are they there?
·
Are fonts consistent throughout the piece,
creating a house style? E.g. stick to serif or sans-serif. Do not use both!
·
Is there more than one artist, location, shot
type throughout the piece??
·
Branding on contents and DPS- logo / website /
page number?
·
Are columns evenly measured on DPS on contents?
·
Pictures on contents page: do they have page
numbers on them?
·
Front cover image should almost always be a MCU
·
All pictures must be original (exception:
barcodes, QR codes, social media logos)
·
A minimum of 4 images throughout the piece. This
is a minimum however and stronger students will have more!
·
Check that colour scheme complements the photography
·
Proof read all copy for spelling mistakes, typos
and sense!
·
Layout – Use space properly (E.g. Cover lines,
puffs, etc)
