Level 2 Unit 13 - Desktop graphics techniques

Tom's demonstration of desktop graphic techniques required for Unit 13: Graphic Design for Digital Media.

Task 3A: Creating desktop graphics

  • vector shape tools
  • text wrap
  • text tools
  • picture boxes
  • text box
  • columns
  • transform tools
  • page arrangements
  • master page
  • importing primary images, e.g. from scanners, digital cameras and video
  • pixel (image resolution)
  • compression: lossy, lossless
  • types of digital graphic, e.g. raster, bitmap, vector
  • output, e.g. print, screen, worldwide web
  • File extensions, e.g. bmp, png, gif, tif, jpg, psd, ai, pdf, indd.
REMEMBER to take screenshots or use 'snipping tool' - save these images as evidence for using these techniques. 

You will also address/annotate your finished product highlighting these techniques.
