TV Studio Blogs (Unit 23) 2014-2015

For this assignment students will individually pitch, plan and develop an idea for an original multi-camera format programme.  The most successful of these programme ideas will be produced by the class in the television studio. 

The aim of this unit is for learners to develop an understanding of multi-camera television formats, and to develop skills in multi-camera production techniques.  Through this assignment they will gain valuable experience of working in a television studio on a variety of live productions. Students will develop production management, technical and team work skills.

Each student will write a supporting diary blog throughout this unit firstly covering the studio visit to 'Loose Women', multi camera case studies and time spent in the television studio. Then the blog will need to be tracking individual ideas and proposal, as well as the pre-production and planning undertaken for the chosen programme ideas. Each blog should go on to explain the production stage covering involvement in the paperwork, planning, refining original ideas to final script, set construction and design, rehearsal and walkthroughs, the studio shoot, playback, review of the success of the production and the students' own role. The blogs will be checked regularly throughout this project.
