'3 Minute Wonder' Project (unit 27)
Working in groups of three you will create an engaging
three minute documentary video based on a person or a group of people with an
interesting story to tell. Think
carefully about who, what and where you can film, for example your video could
focus on a particular hobby or local community group.
Your film can be entertaining, thought provoking, educational,
personal, local or universal; you decide but make sure you consider your
audience and are aware of the resources available to you.
‘3 Minute Wonder’
is a documentary shorts strand that followed Channel 4 News on weekdays
(currently not being commissioned). Commissioning Editor Kate Vogel
described the ‘3 Minute Wonder’ format: “It's important that the trajectory of
the films feels absolutely suited to the three minutes so the form and
structure of the film is crucial…. Above all I'm looking for ways of telling
big broad universal stories in miniature…”
Successful films will be entered into the Walthamstow International Film
Festival
